Finally, I have successfully bled a person and collected 450 mL of blood. Twice.
About 2 weeks ago, while on duty as a volunteer at the blood services of Red Cross Baguio chapter, Karyl decided to donate blood. After filling up the form, she suddenly got cold feet. She talked a LOT too. Then I punctured her arm with the needle...intradermally! OUCH! It was a failed attempt. But that did it--she shut up! Too shocked. Lol.
Then she just wouldn't let it go.

But last week, we decided to try again. This time, I was victorious! Go, me!
450 mL later, it was my turn to donate. What goes around, comes around. It was Arian's turn to bleed someone so that someone was me. I closed my eyes as I felt the needle puncture my skin and waited for it to stop. A few seconds passed and I looked only to see she was puncturing me far too slowly. OUCH!
After a second puncture by the Med Tech, my blood flowed into the bag.
It is painful, but only a little. It took about 15 minutes of my time. A little sacrifice for a good cause. So,
please visit your local chapter of the Philippine National Red Cross and donate.
